Designing a device to extract carbon and hydrogen gas from urban wastewater using microbes and industrial wasteproducts. Working towards a full-scale device that can integrate with urban water systems.

Designing a zero-emission biochar production facility with potential for real-world scale up. Optimizing our biochar product to use in applications on campus to enhance natural carbon sinks like soil.

Project COBALT

Finished W2024. COBALT designed and built a Direct Air CO2 Capture (DAC) device, synthesizing a new sorbent to enhance performance. Partnering with the U-M ChemE Cube team, their device won 2nd Place at the 2024 ChemE Cube Direct Air Capture Competition.
